ORGANIZE AND EMPOWER INDEPENDENT VETERANS

 

IVA was built to identify, inform, and unite independent veterans and give them a voice at all levels.

49% of all Americans consider themselves independents. Independents are the largest, fastest-growing and most-influential group in the United States.

This powerful group includes 50% of all veterans.

A majority of vets are clear they put their country and the issues they care about first. 98% are registered to vote.

Veterans appreciate and will defend our core American values. We advocate for freedom and the basic right of every American to have an equal vote.

We live country over party.

We are uniquely powerful. And we look out for and support each other.

 

OUR GOAL

EMPOWER INDEPENDENT VETERANS TO SUPPORT AND DEFEND AMERICA IN A TIME OF URGENT NEED

IVA is building the largest and deepest community of independent veterans ever collected, to reform the American election system, enfranchise tens of millions of people, enable voting and civic participation, promote trusted technology advances in voting, empower and elect a new generation of public servant leaders, encourage civility and moderation, combat disinformation, and battle extremism.

We are battling deep political division, rising extremism, and the threat of authoritarianism at home and abroad.

We are the ground game that shows victory for independents is possible. And the courageous spark that is inspiring a movement.

A movement that endorsed and launched our first wave of independent veteran candidates for office in late summer of 2024, followed by a lot of building and our second wave, and now what will be a massive surge in 2026.

IVA is the nerve center, the farm team, the unifier, the brand-definer, and the cavalry that the independent movement has been waiting for. And the platform for new independent leaders that America needs now.

 

 

OUR PLAN

OPERATION INDEPENDENT WOLF

 

PHASE 1: LAUNCH

Phase 1 began with the launch of IVA on July 4th, anchored by a new, cutting edge website that introduced IVA, welcomed independent veterans, helped build community, and empowered men and women of all generations across America to declare their independence and join millions of others of veterans in rejecting the two-party duopoly and creating a new path forward for all Americans.

The launch was supported by online and in-real-life activations and public and media launch activations around July 4th. We leveraged America’s Independence Day to invite millions to declare their independence for a 2024 INDEPENDENTS Day. And establish July as an entire month of independence for independents. This is a strategy we will repeat annually for decades to come.

Phase 1 also included identifying IVA’s 2024 veterans who already hold office or have declared to run as independents for public office in local races to join IVA and use our best-in-class, free, campaign tools.

IVA empowers independent veteran candidates with a “campaign in a box” (powered by GoodParty.org) that provides powerful resources including campaign planning tools, registration guidelines, grassroots outreach tactics, and the best voter data available.

Our first 2024 IVA candidates have proven the concept winning at an unprecedented 36% win rate. This first wave of leaders have branded IVA for the world and cast our independent movement in a new, innovative, patriotic light.

 

PHASE 2: BUILD

Phase 2 was focused on building on the momentum of our launch to recruit as many new vet candidates as possible to declare to run for office as independents, with the support of IVA, their fellow independent veterans, and the power of the GoodParty.org tools.

The 2024 Presidential debates and Republican and Democratic National Conventions were moments when the country grew more and more frustrated with having only two options and increasingly hungry for alternatives. And IVA was there.

IVA also hosted our First Annual IVA Convention on September 11 in NYC. This convention united our top IVA leaders and prospects in-person. Having them all in one place was incredibly powerful like a giant family reunion. History was made and the IVA movement was truly born.

 

PHASE 3: FIGHT

Phase 3 focused on getting our 2024 IVA candidates elected on Election Day on Nov 5, 2024. We drove the national IVA membership in support of our leaders, encouraging them to volunteer, spread the word, donate and more.

As a result, IVA was able send funds directly to the campaigns of candidates. Our ultimate goal is to back winners. But also to back candidates with uniquely powerful stories who will be in the arena for future races and decades to come. No other organization in America is specifically focused on electing independent veterans.

And we scored victories. And the movement has really started picking up steam.

 

PHASE 4: UNITE

Veterans Week 2024 was a time when half the country was disappointed by the results of the presidential election just one week earlier. IVA was able to capitalize on the moment by promoting a message of unity and hope for the future with online and irl activations at Veterans Day activities nationwide, highlighting our winning independent vet candidates for 2024.

These stories of patriotism, triumph, disruption and underdog victories helped to create a story of hope for America’s future. It was also a time of tremendous disaffection among Democrats and Republicans nationwide. It served as a prime opportunity for the reintroduction of IVA encouraging veterans to leave the two parties and declare their independence.

We also launched our campaign to recruit the strongest IVA candidates possible for 2025, 2026 and beyond.

 

PHASE 5: LEARN, IMPROVE, RELOAD

Phase 5 ended the 2025 calendar year with a period of tenacious evaluation of all our efforts, a refining of our long-term plans, continued iteration with the GoodParty.org tools, and a fundraising campaign to support independent vet candidates for 2026 and beyond.

 

PHASE 6: SCALE

Phase 6 starts 2026 as we reignite and scale our annual calendar of events building toward growing our membership to 1 million members and empowering 100 IVA candidates to run in 2026.

We will repeat our annual patriotic activations focused on Memorial Day, D-Day, Flag Day, July 4, September 11th, Election Day and Veterans Day. And host our Second Annual IVA Summer Convention in 2026. And push to elect as many independent vets as possible in November of 2026.

We repeat and scale the plan in 2027 and beyond. Disrupting the status quo, protecting democracy, pushing both parties to more moderate positions, eventually creating an Independents Veterans Caucus in Congress, and inspiring a new generation of grassroots and more-ethical political leaders.

And one day, electing an independent veteran as President of the United States.

This is the political fight of our time. And one that will take years possibly decades to achieve. But it is winnable. And it starts now. With Independent Veterans of America. And with you.
